When we started planning for our 80th anniversary, it was obvious to celebrate in a big way by producing a really nice anniversary collection.

With our long history, it felt natural that the design of the jewelry would have a nod to the 40s with a design language taken from the era when Schalins was founded. Where diamonds in the characteristic teardrop-shaped and tapered stone cut became the basis for an exciting, new design together with the noblest of metals, platinum. Which also symbolizes the 80th wedding anniversary.

“Eloge” means praise or tribute in Swedish, where each piece of jewelry is part of a larger tribute to tradition, craftsmanship and quality, but also a reflection on the company's contribution to the industry.

Eloge exudes luxury, elegance, organic futurism and boldness. It is something out of the ordinary for very special occasions. The collection includes a total of 10 pieces of jewelry with necklaces, earrings and rings in three sizes.

Eloge stands out compared to what we have done before, something completely different. Classic and at the same time new and stylish!

The teardrop shape of the diamonds, the half bezel setting, it's not that common in Sweden. The necklace that was a challenge, designed as a tennis bracelet. All the clever details and fine adjustments for a perfect final finish that lasts over time.

In the design team, we started by gathering inspiration and trend scouting. We always do this when a new collection is being developed. We visited the Vicenzaoro fair outside Venice and looked for stones, styles and trends. To our delight, we saw that there are a lot of teardrop-shaped stones now. Exactly what we wanted.

We did research in the 40s, both jewelry and clothing fashion. We shared everything fun and inspiring with each other, which gave us new ideas that eventually landed in a vision that Torbjörn could start sketching out.
