Service & Maintenance of Your Ring
Your jewellery is designed to last a lifetime. However, accidents can happen, or you may wish to make adjustments over time. Through our authorised retailers, we offer services including repairs and modifications.
Below, you will also find guidance on how to care for your ring yourself.
Caring for Your Schalins Ring
Your ring is meant to be worn with pride every day for many years to come. With daily wear, however, comes natural wear and tear. We recommend regular cleaning to maintain its beautiful brilliance, as well as routine checks to ensure it remains in good condition.
Cleaning Your Ring at Home
Everyday activities can cause dirt to build up on your ring. This may irritate the skin and make it more difficult to spot signs of wear.
If you have a gold and diamond ring, you can safely clean it at home using warm water, mild dish soap, and a soft toothbrush. The more frequently you wear your ring, the more often it should be cleaned — ideally once a week.
How to clean your ring:
- Soak the ring in warm water with a small amount of dish soap for approximately ten minutes.
- Gently brush the ring with a soft toothbrush to remove dirt. Pay attention to the setting and ensure that no stones feel loose.
- Rinse thoroughly and allow the ring to dry completely before wearing it again.
Rings set with pearls or non-precious stones can be more delicate. In such cases, we recommend consulting a professional goldsmith rather than cleaning the ring yourself.
If dirt proves difficult to remove, one of our retailers will gladly assist you.
Checking Your Ring
When cleaning your ring, it is also a good opportunity to inspect it. Wear and tear varies depending on the design of the ring and your daily activities.
We recommend removing your ring when:
- Gardening
- Working with metals
- Exercising with equipment
- Performing activities that may expose the ring to impact or strain
The setting is often the most vulnerable part of the ring. If left unchecked for too long, a stone may eventually become loose or fall out.
We recommend having your ring professionally inspected approximately every two years to ensure it remains in optimal condition. If you notice a loose stone, contact one of our authorised retailers immediately for assistance.
Your ring is a symbol of something enduring — with the right care, it will continue to shine for generations.
