About Schalins

Schalins 80 Years – 2024

Our History

The story of Schalins Ringar began in 1944 — the same year Örjan Schalin was born. In a small family shop on Prästgatan in central Östersund, Bror Schalin began producing the beloved silver coffee spoon Jämtskogen. That craftsmanship laid the foundation for what would later become Schalins Ringar AB.

Much has happened since then.

Örjan Schalin, Bror’s son, followed in his father’s footsteps and eventually took over the business. With a strong passion for development and innovation, Örjan shifted the focus toward engagement and wedding rings. As demand grew, the original goldsmith’s shop became too small. Between 1987 and 1989, Örjan built a dedicated factory — the very facility where all Schalins engagement and wedding rings are still crafted today.

Thanks to skilled and devoted employees — some of whom have been with the company for over 40 years — Schalins’ vision has flourished: to unite traditional craftsmanship with modern technology.

Schalins stands for Swedish design and the highest level of craftsmanship. Today, we are one of the leading ring manufacturers in the Nordic region, with production rooted in Jämtland. It is our love for the craft itself that breathes life into new and inspiring jewellery design. Trends and tradition meet in perfect harmony.

When you choose and order your engagement or wedding ring from us, it is created entirely from scratch. Your unique ring — crafted to world-class standards — begins to take shape.

Committed To Swedish Craft

Our Goldsmith Workshop

At Schalins, we have crafted engagement and wedding rings since 1944 and are today proud to be one of the largest ring manufacturers in the Nordic region. Our goldsmith workshop is located in northern Sweden, where skilled artisans handle every stage of the process — from design and alloying to stone setting, polishing, and engraving.

When we create your ring, we do so entirely from scratch, beginning the very day you place your order. Within a week, it leaves our workshop on its way to you.

That dedication is rare — and just one of many reasons to choose Schalins.

About the Craft

At Schalins, we have crafted rings since 1944 — and the same genuine passion for the craft lives on today. In our modern facility in Östersund, experience and exceptional expertise come together every day, shaping jewellery we are proud to stand behind.

Here, your ring is created with care in every moment and attention to the smallest detail. Our deep knowledge, combined with advanced technology, is used to form each ring from a solid core of gold. The melting and casting process is carried out with precision and accuracy.

Each ring then moves through engraving and surface finishing before being carefully hand-polished to achieve a flawless high-gloss finish. If you have chosen a ring set with gemstones, they are meticulously set by hand by our skilled stone setters. Before delivery, every ring is thoroughly inspected to ensure it meets the highest standards of quality.

It is our promise to you — so that you can feel pride and joy in wearing a ring crafted through Swedish expertise.

About Genuine Materials

We create our rings and jewellery with a passion for both design and craftsmanship — and with deep respect for high-quality materials.

Our jewellery is crafted exclusively from precious metals such as gold, platinum, palladium, silver, and titanium. Within our collection, you will find both plain and patterned rings, as well as designs adorned with diamonds and other gemstones. Our rings are not only beautiful — they are designed to endure, today and for generations to come.

Environment & Sustainability

At Schalins, we are dedicated to environmentally conscious and sustainable practices. When you invest in a ring or piece of jewellery from us, you can be assured that we use 100% recycled fine gold, conflict-free diamonds, and fossil-free electricity in our production.

Our metals follow a fully circular process within Sweden. We source them from a Swedish supplier and recycle 50% of the gold directly within our own manufacturing.

We take a strong stand against diamonds that finance conflicts or unethical practices. Our diamonds are sourced from European suppliers based in Antwerp and are certified under the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS), ensuring they are entirely conflict-free.

Crafted with care — for you, and for the future.
